It was exactly 32 years ago today that Robin Ventura decided to charge Nolan Ryan on the mound . For his indiscretion he received a bit of Texas justice at the end of Nolan Ryan's fist. An iconic piece of baseball history , this baseball was an actual game ball prepped in the usual Nolan Ryan manner for use in that game on August 4, 1993 . It was Ryan's last season as well as that of the old Arlington Stadium. There are not many of these in existence (only 6 doz are prepared for each game and likely less than 1 dozen where sold) as they were not sold to the public. As a Ranger season ticket holder at the time I was given the opportunity to purchase this baseball. It has sat proudly on my desk since but now it's time to downsize my collection.
