This is from my childhood. It's lights up and plays sounds (firing sounds) and the wheels on the tank move when batteries are put into the remote (uses AA AND C batteries which are not included). I have posted the video of it moving, lighting up and making firing sounds.
It's missing parts. Missing thr missiles from the sides, the back of the remote control, and 3 wheels from the tank's sides. So even though it operates, I'd say it's more or a shelf sitter as without the wheels for the tank rivets being complete, the rubber belts slip off. But for 40 years old, it's in great condition and the fact that it still operates is awesome.
