VTG 1980s Martha Hopkins (BHAM) Handmade Porcelain Doll Bye-Lo Type Cloth Body

For your consideration is this vintage porcelain doll made by Martha Hopkins of Birmingham, Alabama. The back of the doll's neck is inscribed and reads "MH 1980" dating the doll to that time frame. The doll is made very similar to Bye-Lo type dolls, has a porcelain head and hands, and a cloth body filled with soft fibers. The artisan hand painted the porcelain pieces and gave the doll sparkling blue eyes and a small tear underneath one. The back of the doll bears the artisan's identification label. The artist handcrafted the heirloom baptism dress, the slip, and the diaper. The diaper is held secure with a small safety pin. The doll is in the sitting position, measures 7.5 inches tall, and weighs 7 ounces.. Such a lovely doll to commemorate your little ones baptism or add to your artisan doll collection.
